I’ve had many sub-par results lately with my sourdough bread, but I’m happy with today’s loaf! Taste is good, it’s pretty airy, and its got the perfect amount of crispyness/chewiness in the crust! Thanks to Connor for starting the dough yesterday afternoon. It’s not a quick process, but it’s worth it!
This was worth getting up early to bake!
We use Erin’s recipe on her Three Little Blackbirds blog, but I have managed to slightly mess up the timing or method several times, so I’m glad to have a success today!
I have previously used a cast iron Dutch oven, but got this lovely clay one from Breadtopia when it was on sale recently. I’ve been pleased with how evenly it bakes!
And here’s Connor’s loaf he baked later.
I also got my starter about a month ago from Breadtopia. I kept trying to start my own, but our wild yeast just wouldn’t cooperate! If you have trouble with starter, hit me up! I always can fix up some extra to share.
